A

Anhydrous Ethanol:
Ethanol blended with gasoline, with an alcohol content of at least 99.3%.

ATR:
Total Recoverable Sugar (ATR, from the Portuguese acronym) is expressed in kilograms per ton of sugarcane (kg/t). It indicates the amount of Total Reducing Sugars (TRS) that can be recovered during industrial processing.

Brown sugar or “VHP”:
Sugar that retains a layer of molasses around the crystal, giving it a darker color. VHP sugar – short for Very High Polarization – is the main type exported and serves as a raw material for producing other types of sugar and for various industrial uses.

CBIOS:
Decarbonization credits representing one ton of CO₂ emissions avoided through the replacement of fossil fuels with biofuels. Issued by biofuel producers, these credits are traded with fuel distributors under the rules of the RenovaBio Program, overseen by Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP).

Cogeneration or Bioenergy:
The generation of electricity from the combustion of sugarcane bagasse.

Crop Year:
The company’s fiscal year runs from April through March of the following year.

FIDC (Receivables Investment Fund):
A capital markets instrument that provides credit through the securitization or advance payment of receivables.

Hydrous Ethanol:
Ethanol sold at gas stations for use in flex-fuel vehicles, with an alcohol content ranging from 92.5% to 94.6%.

ISO 14001 Certification:
A set of international standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization, providing guidelines for environmental management within organizations.

TCH (Tons of Cane per Hectare):
A key productivity metric that measures the amount of sugarcane harvested per hectare of cultivated land.

W

White Crystal Sugar:
Also known as traditional white sugar, this product is obtained through crystallization without chemical refining. It has a high level of purity and an ICUMSA color rating between 130 and 180. ICUMSA is an international standard used to assess sugar quality.
